Imperial Red Tea

Red tea is the true and original name for this tea — corrupted by mistranslation or misunderstanding as Black Tea in the world of English tea. This, without getting political, is the standard of flavour and effect that led traders to abscond tea trees from China and plant them throughoutthe empire. In drinking the original, we immediately see what the teas of the old Empire are getting at. However, here in place of a single note we have an orchestra. In place of monochrome
we find a full range of colour. When we replace lowlands with mountain slopes, rich earth with dry dust, shake with broad leaves, we find the experience which tea always promised but doesn’t always deliver. Power is a language all its own, a language which this tea speaks with rare fluidity.
